Why am I an artist?

Art for me, in brevity, is possibly the only thing in my life that manages to keep me sane. It's a way to handle any emotional turmoil or airiness. It's a way to make my thoughts physical. In order for me to create, I spend a period of time full of crowded thoughts and meaningless sketches until I find the outlet I'm searching for. I don't always end up with a masterpiece, but I draw until I am satisfied.

I come from a family of artists whom of which I admire, which naturally lead to my own personal growth as an artist. I have always been encouraged to pursue my ideas and to try again if I had believed that I had failed. My mother especially is a main reason as to why I continue to draw, to paint, and to strive for new artistic skills. Despite my huge inspiration from my talented artist friends and all of my loved ones, she remains a key factor in my heart. Art is my form of toleration, war, love, anger, delight, and grief. It's my sanctuary, my only means of stability in a fast paced world. As my body needs bones and muscles for structure and support, my heart and mind needs art.
